Im starting a new directory, just finishing off a couple technical items, and then i need to take a good look at the appearance side of things. Couple questions. 1) Which script, phpld or esyndicat has better support overall? Anyone have recent experience with both. I find phpld support pretty good really, for $10, the problem is im in Australia and its the same old story, nobody is awake in the rest of the world when I am. 2) How difficult is it to add custom fields for differant categories. So once a category is selected differant fields are introduced. I know this would be possible with either script, the question is does Esyndicat already have this feature? which would be easier to hack this into 3) Paid Links - I know i can hack phpld to create extra options, ive got the code, and i was going to do tonight actually, but does Esyndicat allow you to add this on more easily? Ive looked at the Esynidicat addons list. No answer for either question. I havent checked the forums though. I notice it does have ppc and coupon support, which could be handy, a lot of their plugins are standard features of phpld Any answers for these three questions would be really helpful
For phpLD... 1. We no longer charge for access to the supporters forum. That is free. Additionally, we have free access to a support ticket system for 90 days after purchase. 2. The classified version of phpLD allows you to have different submit items for different categories. For example, you could have videos submissions for the video category, article submissions for the article category, and link submissions for the link category, etc. 3. There is virtually an unlimited number of "link types" you can create with varying payment options or fields.
