countries with the most refunds?

Discussion in 'ClickBank' started by floodrod, Sep 5, 2007.

Anyone who sells products on clickbank, I have a question on refunds.

I read that some countries refund rates are much higher on a consistent basis
I have had only 1 refund selling my product as of yet, as my products seem to satisfy just about all who purchase.

From vendor experience, what countries of customers have the highest return rates?

    Thanks

Only because I have sold the most there and it is the USA. If you have a good product the refund rates should be low.

    floodrod,

That's an interesting question. I checked my last 400+ sales and refunds and a pattern immerged.

Countries listed in order of most sales with the percentage of refunds:

    United States -- 10.55%
    Great Britain -- 0%
    Canada -- 7.41%
    Australia -- 0%
    France -- 0%

    What’s up with North America?

    Interesting results..

Out of 80-100 sales, I only had 1 refund as of yet. I don't have enough data to make a judgement.

Most of my sales were from USA, GB, and AU, and I made 1 sale to India. It was the India sale that refunded. I found it interesting because I sold the exact same product to USA customers, and many came back to purchase more, which confirmed they were satisfied with the product.

India is at the top of my list as worse country. I've only sold two products to that country and both have been refunded.

EasyClickMate has an option of directing payments from specific countries to an alternate payment system, or even denying sales all together to specific countries to prevent ruining your clickbank refund numbers.

I will not use this option as of yet, but if this trend continues as you stated, i definitely will put this into effect.

    Thanks for the info!

I was of the opinion that the refund rate is based on the product performance. But this thread seems to be interesting.

Indians wont compromise on the quality of the products they purchase. If they understand that the product is not up to their satisfaction, they will ask for refund.

I have sold over a hundred copies of my clickbank product ('viewnow') and so far I have not received a refund request. Almost all of my sales are to (in order):

    Sales:
    20% USA
    17% UK
    15% Australia
    10% Canada
    5% Ireland
    2% Spain

and a few others have generated a sale each.

    Refunds=0

    Here's an intresting thing.

The exact same person from India who refunded came back last night and purchased a second product from my site. They bought 1, refuded, then came back and bought again..

I'm wondering if this person was really dissatisfied with the first purchase..

I think product quality and the niche you are in will determine what gets refunded most. Where internet marketing is concerned, it's common that the refund is high (regardless of the countries) as folks buying IM products knows that ClickBank will refund without challenging.

Do you target your advertising by country or language when using PPC?

The exact same Indian buyer who refunded, came back and purchased 2 more items. A few days later, another refund by the exact same person.

The only refunds I have got on over 100 sales were both from the same person who keeps coming back to buy more, than refunds.........

@floodrod: send an email to clickbank and let them know whats going on, perhaps they will bill him without chance to refund next time. He is clearly stealing your product(s)

    Its actually a SHE:)

I wont email clickbank, but I did deny all further purchases from India with my script. It will actually benefit me because under 1% of sales come from India, and I sent 3 products and got 2 returns as opposed to 100 sales to other countries and no returns.

No disrespect to anyone who lives in India, but these are the measures I have to take to stop people like this.
