    Hello,

This question seems to be a contraversial one: Should blogs have counters?

I have been thing about adding one, but don't want my blog to read like a McDonald's sign...

    Thoughts/Opinions appreciated.

I think it is useless. It either seems like your bragging or when the blog is new, it looks like no one visits your blog. Counters should be seen only on traffic stats that can be shown to advertisers.

Agree. Ask yourself what the point of having the counter is? Would your readers care? Does it add value in any way? Could it work against you if, after a few months, it sits at 10 and 9 of them are you?

Feedburner just doesn't set well with me. I've had a lot of headaches with it.

It's more logical to count subcribers than hits. If I was going to put a counter I'd use an Alexa widget though - looks much better.

I just do not understand why you would want to do this unless you wanted to advertise the millions of people who visit?

I have Alexa... It seems to do well and does help with the advertising. Most of my stats are done by Analytics AmungUs...
