couldnt start apache on xampp

    I have uninstalled XAmPP (Basis Package) version 1.7.3 on my windowsxp mechine.I can successfully start Tomcat,Mysql server on xampp control panel but Apache won't start. The system error log says:

    The Apache2.2 service terminated with service-specific error 1 (0x1).

    please help me

    Make sure skype not running, or any other software that using 80 port.

    Check for the port, is it already in use, else define a new port address

    Turn off skype or IIS
