Couldn't make international payments using debit cards from India. Anyone else?

As the title says, I can not make any international payments for the past few days. First, noticed it a few days back, when my automatic payment at Amazon EC2 failed. Since then, I'm trying to do other payments (such as domain renewals) without any success. I tried using a couple of my other debit cards too. I tried to pay via Paypal too. All failed. Am I the only person having this issue?

For domain renewals, I can move the domains to a registrar in India. But, there are other things that I can't think of any alternatives.

Its better that you take a credit card or else atleast a HDFC account where you can create VCC's to pay anywhere in World.

Thanks for your reply, Subhi. Unfortunately, VCC doesn't work with Amazon EC2 as VCC can be used only once. I think it's time to move to a credit card. I had been happily using debit cards for years together without any issue for international payments until last month.

Debit cards do work for International payments. But, it depends on the site where you're using it.

I brought PC game called 'Terraria' from Steam store and used Visa Debit Card issued by an Indian bank.

Thanks Nihangshah for your input. How recent was that purchase.

Until last January 12, 2012, everything was going very well. I usually make at least two international payments every month using the same debit card. Only this month I got into trouble. For the moment, I moved my sites to an India based VPS provider (Hostcats). Anyway I'm in touch with my bank to see if there is any errors on their part.

    Thanks again.

Update: The international payments started working again. Just now I paid two dues in dollars. I honestly do not know why this issue came up, how it was revolved and by whom. Anyway, I'm going after a real credit card soon. I just do not want to be in the same situation again.

Thanks everyone who commented on this thread.

@bala6588 Unfortunately, I can not. If it is one time payment, I can. However, I am using it for monthly payments for my hosting at Amazon AWS. No way I can use a VCC for this type of payments.

    Thanks @dhanaa!

@debabratakarfa I have five cards from four banks (Axis, Canara, IDBI, and PNB) . I tried all too. Nothing worked during the first couple of weeks of February. Then suddenly all started working fine.

what you can really do is use entropay www.entropay.com

Entropay charges few dollar fee but provides you with virtual credit card which works all over the world. You can offcourse use Indian debit card to add funds into entropay.
