This is a scary thought :) - Google's total Internet domination. Get banned from one program - get banned from the Internet

In case, if we don't use Google, what should be another focus? Yahoo and MSN , Is that enough for traffic?

Google is getting a little too big for its britches that's capitalism I guess and if you're doing business online in some significant way, you'll be affected by google in some way directly or indirectly.:)

Have a look at driving traffic to your site using other sources. Look at optimising for social media traffic, for example.

I would lose half my traffic without Google, which for an arcade site means alot. I don't earn of it so I would easily get by without :)

EDIT - But my site would be half less popular which would be sad to see regardless of any earnings.

It is the king at the moment but with new search features on the likes of ask.com etc Google will have to up the stakes to keep a hold on the search engine market, it could drop as easily as one of our own sites could.

Now, to SE optimizator it is enough to take into account only Google.
But if there were a 3-5 main SE, it would be the problem to optimize site for every SE and to find compromise between them.
