What if you had to support multiple languages & use the UTF-8 encoding, how would you deal with that ?
I'm already using NotePad for almost everything (for editing PHP, CSS, JavaScript, C#, etc.). Of course, using it always put development at a much slower pace than if I have my other tools. Using NotePad alone would be a real pain - because you can't check if everything's alright, can't make images, can't put in some other symbols, ...
I could survive with notepad easily, although it would take longer typing things out as Dreamweaver closes tags for me
Could I survive? I think the better question is would I want to? Answer=no. I would not want to, yeah I'm lazy I like my dreamweaver. But if I had to do it to save a life, sure.
Hell no I wouldn't survive. Not that it's impossible to run a website with only notepad it would just take to long. It would take me twice the time to earn half the money. Besides isn't that why we have html editors like Expressions and Dreamweaver.
I will survived, and i think that anyone that start to write to web (HTML/CSS) need to begin in NOTEPAD!
I'm so used to the colors on Crimson Editor so it'll probably take me a little time to get used to notepad again.. but I'll definitely survive.
Sure. I much prefer Textpad for the syntax coloring and other handy features, but I would never give control of my code over to Dreamweaver or (heaven forbid) Frontpage. Steve
I wouldn't mind it only because I've never had the chance to use any other products. I'm not an expert coder, just average who edits things on my website and add stuff now and then. I use notepad all the time .
