Yes, i think you're right. I get only 1-2 clicks a day. I doubt what adsense design i should take - link ad, link text or other.
The first thing you want to do is to create and put a big square ad above the fold, even above your current main content. That is, if you want to make Adsense your main revenue generator.

nick2007, give this a try...change your ad titles color to the original Adsense blue. Most people already recognized the color blue as links so they will click through your ads. But first take a note of your current CTR with your current setup, this way you have something to compare with. I usually test my ads changes with 1000 impressions...it gives me enough data to decide if I should keep the change or revert back to the original setup.

In addition, you can identify some higher paying keywords and concentrate your content/SEO development in those areas.
