Hi guys so I am a young guy, not even out of high school and I have started my own website - http://www.gamercity.co.uk. I would like to know what, you the professionals, think of how I have done so far. Tell me what you think of the overall design. I basically picked up a template and modified it to suit. I am going to add an image carousel above my categories links bar and below my title bar for a bit of extra color. Could you also, if you have to time, check out my forums and tell me what you think? If you wouldn't mind could you also do me a great favor by registering and joining in the conversations? This is like my first week properly promoting my forums and I would like to get them moving. If you could do any of these things I would be more than grateful! Thank you!
The design is a bit dull, but it works. The first thing you should change is the header, doesn't fit too well in my opinion. The hover on the menu could be a darker color, white doesn't seem to fit either. The forum, aside from being nearly dead, is ok but could be alot better, just my thoughts hope they help
hi, Nice design Look out for header. Its not suiting your site. Make it creative and nice to see at. Now your drop down menu needs some varities. Change colour scheme a bit Thanks and all the best
Thanks a lot guys. Its very encouraging to hear these words from people who are pretty experienced in the business!
I do not mean to insult, but the banner sticks out like a sore thumb. For one, that dark blue for "Gamer" doesn't compliment the colors of your blog, and it is also just plain text on a plain white background, which gives it the feel of a Google ad. Of course, I'm not a graphics designer, and I don't mean to pass myself off as one. I only mean my comments as the first impressions (however fair or unfair) of a first-time visitor. Regards, Kevin
Thanks your comment is noted. Although this is something I can't bend on. I have gone with the banner and I am going to stick with it Btw its those that can accept the truth and move on that get far in the world these days. So don't worry about insulting anyone
Get a nice logo - hire somebody to design it if you have too. It's worth the money - $20-50 should cover it. I like the design. It's nice and clean and a change from the usual graphics you see on gaming sites. When you head to the forum you need a link back to the main site - click the logo just returns you to the forum homepage rather than the main site. Carry the menu from the 'main site' over to the forum to integrate it more, same with the footer. Best of luck.!
The site is ok, but still it needs work. A change in the colors, new logo for your site, nicer picture-text arrangement, or maybe more pictures Good luck with the site
really well written easy to read . could do with a bit of colour i think . im getting a c 2 shortley so helpful posts xx
