Ok, I was busy making a logo/mascot for my new technology review site and now I am in a dillemma, I wanted your opinions on which one of these logo's is better:

The one with the sunglasses is definitely better.

 

with sunglasses he looks cool and self-assured.

You could illustrate him without sunglasses, but the way you did it without sunglasses here made him look timid, afraid, and self-conscious. Probably not the intended message you want to send.

 

The one with the glasses is cooler and more tech-like!

The problem was that I am not good when it comes to drawing eyes, and the eyes are what determine the emotions being expressed by the face and since I am no good at making them I decided it would be best to hide them using sunglasses.

 

Right choice.

@sarsh11: I have a natural talent for expressing emotion through eyes alone it seems in my cartooning, togehter we'd make a dynamite cartoonist.

seriously though, you've got really good quality of line and a great feel to your work, grab a few cartooning books that have emotions illustrated, practice them and you'll be unstoppable!

Great stuff, luckily enough for you the sunglasses one works really well. Great illustrations dude!

 

I have thought about trying and making caricatures/mascots, but I first want to master either Illustrator/Inkscape because cartoons like these need to be vector and if I cant resize them then they are gonna go waste anyway.
I've got my exams right now so I would most probably try and stay away from my computer for a while [10th grade exams are pretty important here xD] but after I am back Ill try and get some cartoon books and learn

10th grade exams? wow you've got some talent - I hope you're seriously considering taking illustration or graphic design or animation for college.....

fist one is really great!! but make it little bit brighter (just the mascot)

 

Both are great, but for that kind of site it's better with sunglasses.
Without them it looks more childish.
