God bless the internet having forums for almost anything you could possibly want! Now, I'm a marketing co-op student working for a small company. I started a google adwords campaign and am generally getting dismal QS's. I feel this may largely be in part to the horrible company website that I am currently trying to convince my boss to update, as well as a low budget. Also, we have a fairly unique product in which a customer would most likely be searching for a model number. I have a generic keyword ad up that seems to be doing better than the others but it contains a lot of words like "LCD" and "Monitor". There is no way I can compete considering the CPC. Now, the "other" ads I refer to are brand specific which contain a lot of model numbers as again, I cannot compete based on CPC when these brands are Toshiba, Samsung, Siemens, etc. All the model numbers are what a customer would likely search but they don't show up due to low QS! Also! I don't have access to the website so adding in conversion tracking or changing text to increase "relevance" is out of the question for the moment... Any suggestions on what I can do?! Thanks in advance! Spencer
Dismal QS have little to do with a page or site itself. Are your keywords relevant to the landing page? If so, then create ads that makes the reader want to click on them. That's where most of your QS lies. The one thing I would try to make your boss understand is that you need conversion tracking installed. Without it, you are flying partially blind and can't optimize for best ROI. Don't use generic keywords.
Forgive me, but what are backlinks? Heh I set up an ad for an ebay store sort of as a guinea pig since I have some control over the landing page ~ Ad: CNC Display Solutions Replacements for CNC monitors & touch screens. Save up to 50% Website I used the keyword tool generator to get my keywords using the url back to the store I then edited the ebay homepage keywords to better reflect those in my adwords campaign (these are meta keywords, no?) Am I nearer the mark? And will those keywords (model numbers) that have poor WS and rarely show ever pop up if searched? Thanks for the replies Spencer
