Could use some consultant/coach suggestions

Lately, I've been doing the daily 9-5 type of job for the last 4 months working for a friend's paint biz, however it's been wearing me down too much to my liking.

So, I've been brainstorming some potential 'careers' that have interested myself greatly, and one is becoming a consultant/coach.

    Niches that I'm experienced in:
    Music (duh :D)
    Online/freelance writing
    Handyman/Home Improvement/ Home Repair
    Painting
    Art/CreativeWriting
    Blog/Web Development
    Franchise Development
    Personal/Social Development (I'm a Psych./Phil. Graduate)

So from this... are these niche's probable for success in being a consultant/coach? I know it's all about the effort, honesty and dedication you put into anything that makes something successful, but I just need to know if it's realistic or not.

    Thanks

I like the creative writing idea. You could definitely start a blog to teach people how to write. There are only a few blogs in this niche that I visit almost daily, and they are not quite good. Either no daily updates or they talk about something besides writing. If you visit www.dailywritingtips.com (Im not affiliated with this site) you can get the idea as to what people need...

Thanks for the support! I am actually underway of starting a review business, in which I will review anything that can be reviewed :D

It's going to start off as a web based project, but I can see this becoming easily accessible through other medias as well.

    Thanks again.

Hey there, if you have an interest and experience in these niches, start a blog or a forum and im sure you will do well, dont quit your day job though until you learn how to successfully run a profitable website (if you dont already know). As far as real life consultancy goes, business as well as individuals out there will almost certainly require some credidentials as well a successful and proven track record. Good luck with it all!

Thanks Josh, I appreciate your insight. I'm definitely trying to not get myself in too deep with this... but it definitely does get me excited thinking of all the potential :)

From what you've said in regards to creds... I'll certainly have to develop the website first, build a following from there, and then I can grow outwards.

Again I appreciate all of your comments!

Sounds like a solid plan! I know exactly what you mean when you say you're excited about all the potential and your new business model. Whenever I have an idea for a new venture thats all I can think about haha. Like right now, my brother and I are about to invest 10k in an idea we have been playing around with for a while and all I can think about is how successful it will be and how much $$$$ we can make. Thats why im on DP while at work ha, trying to acquire as much knowledge as possible before we launch.

Good luck with it all mate, hope you do well!
