i just checked google keyword tool and input "128gb usb flash drive" and there are 15k searches per month. So then i checked to see if www.128gbusbflashdrive.com was available and it is! Lets say i registered it and hosted it, would I come first in google for that search? Please advise
considering the sites listed on the front page for that query are sites like computerworld.com, kingston.com, crunchgear.com, tomshardware.com, I doubt it will work.
Just because the keywords are in the domain name does not mean that alone will get you to page 1. You need lots of good content, and links from other quality 'related' sites. This means that it would require a fair amount of time and some hard work. By the time go make you way to the top with 128, a 256 GB drive will be the 'hot' item. Better get 256, 512, 768, and 1024 now!
Right, keywords in your domain name would be really helpful for ranking purpose but not the determined factor, IMO. You would still need to optimize your title tags, page contents and build your backlinks using your targeted keywords as anchor text. All the best,
Keywords in a dot com name help a lot considering other onpage seo factors are all in order. You have to look at the whole picture not just the domain name. I have sites raking for make money online that do not have any of the words in the domain name or URL because on page seo was done right and so were the backlinks. That is why I never sweat getting the right or perfect domain name ... it is just icing on the cake.
Your keywords seems likely not a competitive one, plus the keyword in domain could help a lot in this case. However, this type of keyword is shopping one and most of pages which are currently ranked for this keyword are inner pages of large shopping portal such as eBay, Shopping.com, etc. You still need a medium degree of backlinks plus some amount of contents (20 pages+) to stablized your ranking in Google.
hehe good question so lets say someone googles " earn money while playing games on my pc" it would seem to me that google will pick up the same algorithm as the text itself , right ? well the deal is that it doesn't always work that way but having a domain name that is related to what you are searching for would HELP a bunch based on what the human is reading. for obvious reason if you were to register the domain name "earnmoneywhileplayinggamesonmypc.com" the title of the page within the meta data would be <title>earn money while playing games on my pc</title> if you were to google term itself you will most likely receive a result with you on TOP "1st listed" if you were the only one in the entired web with such a title. for example search for "obknob" and youll see an example of what I mean. that was an experiment for me just to try your concept and it worked. BUT, the truth is that google doesn't just based it's search results on what the user types but what is most relevant to the SPIDER through the whole web. this is where BACKLINKS,QUALITY OF CONTENT comes to 1st place. A simple concept for finding the solution to your query is by thinking of your domain name as a book with KEYWORDS inside of it. for example : site A = 100 keywords that matches the end-user queries site B = 300 keywords that matches the end-user queries. site A = 20 backlinks site B = 5 backlinks in this case google algorithm knows that 20 END-USERS found the "site A" more usefull then "site B". based on the back links made by humans. which lately i know for sure google is verifying every permanent back link to avoid spam based on the frequency of the link submission. back to your question??? IT DOES NOT WORK; but it helps if the human reads the URL.
It could work, but you have a very strong competition. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...avclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGGL_enIN357IN357&ie=UTF-8
The bottom line is it might work, irrespective of what your competition is. However if you check the search thoroughly there are some really high rank sites "inner pages" displaying on the first page. Also this is a very long keyword phrase, which has a very rare possibility of getting thru. You can try for short keyword, but still you will have 10 times more competition than before. If you are really going for this domain, you have to seriously start thinking of some unique content and also start gathering some strong backlinks for this site. Bookmarking is equally important.
I have a better suggestion for OP. Register domain gbusbflashdrive.com Then while your targetting 128gb you can just do a subdomain 128.gbusbflashdrive.com See
