My idea: Purchase 1 domain name- and from that build a blog to establish myself as some sort of author. From the blog, extend "openings" to other sites which will be more targeted towards niches. Which will in theory both generate trust and traffic to all my sites. Then hopefully I can extend openings and promote other items/products from those other sites (directed at niches) that are part of affiliates (that will make me the money). The reasoning behind this is to establish a level of trust with the viewers so when it comes down to the sale line, they will be eager to buy what I suggest to them. Whether that be Web Hosting, an ebook, phone service, ect ect ect there are millions of affiliates out there... Once all of this is live, I can market it with SEO techniques, forum appearances, and anywhere else where I can tunnel people in from other places with similar interests. Plus link exchanges and what have you. My hopeful plan is to be able to self advertise other products on my own sites and keep my traffic in-network. So if someone was reading an article about html on my site promoting my ebook, I could advertise my web host review site with sign up links to my affiliates (ect ect ect). Plus since they would both be done by me, there is that trust thing again. "Hey this author wrote this article and it was good, lets see what they have to say about this!" <-- That is my idea! The thing that I'm wavering over is this seems to be an unorthodox plan, as far as the research I've done. I came up with this idea by reading suggestions people have given over other people's marketing plans- and most of them said the #1 most important thing is trying to build a trust. So I figured if I could do that then the rest should be easy, right? Plus, I can almost parlay this same structure to any niche I want which again yields endless possibilities. General Consensus: Should this succeed or fail (in theory)?
Hello, Here's a post from an other forum, but this add to your thread. This can be found at http://profittigersystems.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=654 OK. This is NOT an attempt for me to sell software or services, as I get nothing from the companies I'm about to recommend! I created and manage a website for another company. Using these tools I increased site traffic from zero visitors to 400 unique visitors per day within three months. After a year, we now average over 1100 visitors per day and often get as high as 1600+ per day. Not bad, eh? I did it with the following procedure which you can easily copy: 1. I created an "article specification" for a handful (about 6) articles on keyword phrases I thought were appropriate for the site. 2. I setup an account at need-an-article.com. It's cheap. I think it's $9.95 a month and gives you access to a slew of great writers. I placed an order to have these 6 articles written. Cost was a bit over $9 per article and they were completed within about 4 days! 3. I submitted those articles to a few key article directories. In particular, ezinearticles.com. You have to get it posted there. In fact all the articles I have there get me an average click through rate of at least 10%. 4. I signed up with a service at HitTail.com. Guys, this site is a hidden goldmine if you're not aware of it or how to use it properly. They used to offer a free account, now it's $99/year and worth every penny! 5. The articles I posted on the directories got the traffic flow going. But, what it really did for me is feed key information to the HitTail service. 6. Using its proprietary algorithms, the service then makes very educated suggestions on keyword phrases that will bring you greater traffic and search engine positioning if you create more content for your site using that keyword phrase. In fact, they even have an Excel download feature that gives you a 1-10 indicator that tells you how much search engine coverage you're already getting using that keyword. 7. From that list, I selected keywords with an indicator of 6 or less. These, I found offer me the greatest opportunity for market penetration. 8. I then create another article spec for as many of these as primary keywords (depending on my time and budget) and marry it to another one of the keywords on the list with appropriately similar content as a secondary keyword for the article. 9. I then submitted this to the good folks at need-an-article.com and had them write an article on this keyword. 10. I posted the article on my site (one article per week for the first few months, now I'm up to one article per day) 11. Rinse and repeat. 12. Follow this approach and you'll be amazed at the number of first page links you get on the search engines, even for highly competitive terms. In fact, I have multiple first page ranking entries on several search engines - including Google for terms that have listings in the millions! Right now, I have top rankings for over 700 top terms! Hope this helps you guys. If you have any questions, please let me know. Neil Aronson The SoftwareToolman
That is a good idea to get traffic there- but it does not answer my question... And I don't/won't pay to have articles written as I am an author myself so I would save myself the expense
