Hi all this just hit me What if I have profile over many reputed forum, I use same name and same avtar in every forum and don't change the avtar EVER... don't you think this way my avtar will stay in visitor's brain and he will recognize me in other forums too?? Actually I haven't changed my orkut profile avtar for last 5 years or so and now although I keep changing my name regularly still my friends are able to recognize me in every scrapbook some actually appreciate my love for one single avtar
Yes, that's known as brand recognition. I use the same avatar in all the forums I visit - but I don't use the same one forever. If I change it in one place, I change it everywhere else. It's a quick and easy way to help build your brand!
If you write meaningful, quality posts on the forums than it's a good idea to use one avatar for a long time. Especially if you sell digital products, it's great when others recognize you on different forums.
