    Hi,

Basically I'm in the middle of making a site offering a number of products. Lets say I'm offering paid wordpress themes for arguments sake, I will want to provide a live demo of each theme allowing people to view it in action.

In the same respect is there a way to stop people viewing the source, copying the coding and the images I used and making their own. This will enable them to get them for free if they are prepared to put the effort in.

I know it would be harder to steal a wordpress theme as their are different pages/plugins etc. The product I am actually going to sell would be much easier to steal I think.

    Any input is appreciated,

    Richard

Most folks who are setting up wp blogs don't want to go to the extent of actually coding a theme. Remember your audience and try to set your business not for the rule breakers, but for the average normal honest person.

But like I did mention my audience isn't wordpress bloggers, it's a little more indepth and creating a website would be easy I think (based on the niche, it's quite technical), providing they steal the images/coding from my online demo.

I could tackle this my only uploading a screenshot as the demo with watermarks on but that way they will not get to see any features such as hover overs, etc.

I guess that would be the easiest solution but I think it could potentially reduce sales or put people off buying as they won't be able to see the full item before they buy it. Things like the hover overs, extra features may make them more confident in buying from my site.

I think it might be easier if I give more information about the niche, the closest thing to it would be selling landing pages for affiliate campaigns and that sort of thing.

You could try some of those products that disable view source and/or scramble your code, but again, I wouldn't do it unless you are finding it is actually an issue.

I will look into those to try and encript the coding, I think that would solve everything to be honest.

Regarding you saying that you wouldn't do it unless I find it an issue. How will I know if anyone steals them? Other than having traffic to the site and no sales but that could be down to a number of other factors.
