Not sure, but I managed to grab the URL from the referring page in case someone else can figure it out. <html> <head> <title>protopic Online Now!</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us"> <meta name="robots" content="index, follow"> <meta name="description" content="protopic - US Licensed Pharmacies&Physicians"> </head> <body> <form name="x9x" method="post" action="http://www.cheap-drugs-pills.net/protopic.php"></form><script language='javascript'>document.forms['x9x'].submit();</script> <h1>protopic Drug Descriptions & Online drugstore</h1><br><br> Purchase protopic. Probably, this is the sophisticated advertising via fake referrers targeted to site owners who will, like you, follow strange referrers in their logs. Not sure, but if it is, it aparently works )
Yes inquiring minds want to know but some of us would not buy from such a site. If brick and mortar store personel is obnoxious, I will go somewhere else and pay more rather than patronize them. Shannon
It's just a form of log spamming which drives curious webmasters to visit. Don't worry bout those and definitely don't visit or post those "sH-I-T-S" cuz you're making those spammers efforts worthwhile.
Yes joia.com are listed as spammers on chongqed.org (see http://spammers.chongqed.org/wikispammer/joia.com) because they have been wiki spamming just recently, but here you have a case of what's called referrer spam. No real harm in visiting the links out of curiousity. Obviously dont spend any money on the website (that would be really stupid) The way these inconsiderate spamming assholes actually benefit is with search engine rankings. They put that spam link there to boost their google rank, so you should make sure any spammy links are removed from your website as quick as possible, to avoid them benefitting in this way.
They are unlikely to benefit from SE ranking, cause their links lie safely in logs inaccessible to search engines. Even published on stats pages they usually inaccessible to SEs, cause stats pages are dynamic by nature, and often password protected. I think they mainly benefit from webmaster's curiousity.
I get tehse all the time in my referers log as well. They always make sure to have more than one instance so if you rank your top referers, they show up. If its not related to the site content, probably best to ignore them and not make them any money by jumping over to them.
