Hi I was woundering if someone could please explain what the different ways of checking websites links, positions, ect.. via search engine of Google and Yahoo.

    1. I know for instance I can type my website name say http://www.mywebsite.com into google and it will show it first. Does that mean Google has indexed my website?

    2. I type link:http://www.mywebsite.com shows only my website.

    3. What does this line do in Yahoo?
u:www.mywebsite.com or something around that nature?

If you know any other special lines please post them or direct me to more information! Thanks a Million:)

The best function to use (in Google or Yahoo) is site:. For example:

site:www.digitalpoint.com will show you all the pages within the site (in either search engine).

Links can be done like so...

    Google:
    link:www.digitalpoint.com

    Yahoo:
    link:http://www.digitalpoint.com
linkdomain:www.digitalpoint.com (any link anywhere within the domain, not just a single page)
