    Hi All,

I have just looked up what other sites share my IP address (im on dreamhost), and a lot of them are P0RN Sites!!!

My site is a kid friendly site, family!

Does google look at other site on the same IP and maybe see my site as related to the same sites my sites sits on shareing the IP?

    Thanks all!!! :)

If I were you, I would move your website to a new ip/host. I have heard that the websites sharing your ip could also hurt your own site.

I would separate them. It may cost you some but it will be worth it in the long run.

There are a lot of cases being hurt when moved to other hosting sites, specially shared web hosting. Seek for dedicated one...

It is better to stay away from your bad neighborhood and you can search a good and reputed hosting company which could be shared (that's not a problem at all!) and need not be a dedicated one for the starters....

Id say move out before your IP gets blacklisted..and theres a good chance of that in your case..

You need to just request dreamhost to move your account to another server of theres. And you can ask many times if your not happy with it.

You can also tell them the situation and it should be done. I use BlueHost and I've moved 3 times without problems.

    Hope this helps.

I don't think so. IP addresses are a precious resource and Google knows that. Almost all web hosting companies use a single IP address for all sites hosted on a given server. If every site had it's own IP, we would have ran out of IPs a long time ago.

It is said that getting a dedicated Ip address is a good seo practise. You can get one if you want to be stopped being on the same ip as those porn sites.
