One of my sites, http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk has ranked 1st for a specific (low volume) search phrase "free iphone" for about six months, both on "Web" and "UK only" searches. I recently added an additional html file http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk/freemacbookairnews.html to post content on a slightly different search phrase "free macbook air" and that also started to get ranked well in searches. In fact, this morning, it was ranked second on that specific phrase. Unfortunately, a few hours later and the second phrase doesn't even bring the macbook air html file up in results at all as far as I can see. Additionally, whilst http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk is still top on "Web" for "free iphone", it has dropped down on "UK only" for the same term. Why would that be, bearing in mind that the site is .co.uk ? Three things I have done in the last day or so: 1. Paid for stumbles on http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk/freemacbookairnews.html 2. Added Adsense to the site 3. Posted additional content to the macbook side of things (which I rewrote from an eZine article Which of those would affect the rankings? (Be gentle with your answers, I am not a Web master and use trial and error, maybe badly in this instance!) Bagless
Could well be Google just throwing its typical party. I've got you here first for 'web' and down in 6th for 'UK only' searches. Either seems Google is just shakin' about or you have done something that has slightly affected your rankings. Keep building those quality related links and you'll be back top in no time
Hey, There is nothing to do with stumbles or any other social bookmarking, it's just google updates or some thing.
They would be 'quality' links if they were from an iphone/mobile phone/technology related site that either has a good PR or has good SERP rankings
Ok, thanks guys, I will keep an eye out over the next few days. It just seemed coincidental that http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk/freemacbookairnews.html has completely disappear off of the radar!
I hear what everyone is saying. I'm just a bit shocked that searching for "free mackbook air" would have brought me second in the results one minute, the next I am not even on the first 12 pages....got fed up of looking after that! At the same time, http://www.simplyfreeiphone.co.uk has gone from 1st to 7th on UK searches. Surely it can't just be coincidence? Anyway, just talking aloud, thanks for the input, I will wait and see.
Its nothing to do with stumbles and social bookmarking .. It might be something from google . Am sure you will be able to fix it .. Just try out doing little SEO or write an article and submit it on Ezinearticle or goarticle ... Hope it works out.. my 2 cents Whosane
EDIT: I erased my comment.. I'll try to pm you about it when I come back from school tonight or tommorrow.
