Ive had http://www.press-start.net for about 4 months now but google still hasn't found it, I've tried submitting the url to google through their add url page but it never gets accepted, my site is listed on dmoz, it comes up on msn search and yahoo search but it doesn't get a single result on google.

Is it possible that google have banned the url after one of the previous owners misused it or something?

According to alexa toolbar the page has 0 pagerank, also I clicked on the Backlinks link and google returned no results. I guess I'll have to contact google.

    Thanks for the help.

Hmm. Check your robots.txt. Your last line needs to have an extra '/ before admin.php and a new-line at the end:

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /admin
    Disallow: /functions
    Disallow: /skins
    Disallow: /templates
    Disallow: /useruploads
    Disallow: /admin.php

    Code (markup):
Have you checked your log files? Is the googlebot coming to visit your site. I can recommend signing up to Google Sitemaps. Even if you don't submit a sitemap, it can give you some very valuable diagnostics from when it crawls your site.

Also, validate your HTML source. The googlebot may be struggling to deal with the 520 errors that exist on that page.

    Hope that helps...

    Cryo.

I don't know much about it really, I bought the site in early May just before the E3 games conference and used Joomla CMS for a while before switching to a paid cms about 2 months ago.

Using the wayback machine I can see it used to be a band's website:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20010515231745/http://www.press-start.net/

    A nintendo fansite:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20030206100451/http://press-start.net/

And some kind of directory (probably the one that got the domain banned):
    http://web.archive.org/web/20040203161814/http://press-start.net/

You most likely need to fix the coding and robots.txt errors.

    Send a reiinclusionrequest to google.

Work on obtaining bl's but not too rapidly.
