Hello, Wondering if the following scenario can be carried out by the help of Google: (will outline in bullet points to better help explain) - I have a website - I solicit certain businesses to feature their banner advertisement on my site (to which they agree) - Each time someone clicks on their banner, I get paid (question: can I set my own price, if the agreement is strictly between myself & the business?). Now the question: How do I/they know when someone clicks on their banner, and thus I am owed money? Is there some sort of middle man that facilitates this process? Does Google offer a service like this? Finally- if said scenario is possible, how would the business I make the agreement with to feature their ad on my site, go about enrolling in such a program? Would they have to register with this middle-man or something? Thanks very much in advance, - B
Never heard of such a feature. You can put Google Adsense on your site and get paid by Google for every click. You do not have total control over the ads. To talk about a "special agreement" with Google, you should have a website that gets millions of visitos every month
Ah, thank you friend. See, what I wish to do is include ads only relevant to a certain niche. Meaning, I would contact businesses A, B, & C, who all manufacture kaleidoscopes, and make an agreement with them to feature their advertisement on my website, in exchange for being paid each time someone clicks on their ad. What I'm unsure of how to do, though, is find a system that will track those clicks, so I can know how much money I am owed. My apologies if this is not a Google-related matter. Perhaps it relates to something else. Would a service like "Doubleclick" control something like this?
Google won't probably be any help in this case but why don't you try scripts such as IOIPublisher? Google it. Using the script, people can buy ads space from you and they also can see statistic about their ads. You could also find more solution (free or paid) here http://www.hotscripts.com/category/php/scripts-programs/ad-management/ After reading your replies, makes me wonder, maybe BuySellAds suits you more.
You could hire a programmer to build you a script that counts the clicks...the question is, will the other businesses believe the script?
Thank you guys. I think I'm headed in the right direction now. I guess that my ultimate goal is to make sure that I can choose exactly what ads are placed on my site, so I figured, what better way is there to do that than for me, personally, to go directly to the businesses I want on the site, and see if they're interested? Pretty simple concept, I think, but the challenge is then figuring out who/what tracks the clicks and ensures these businesses pay me for the traffic I've directed to their site. So I guess the answer is through a "script," huh? Welp, on the OIOpublisher site right now! Thanks once again, guys.
Another thing you could do is to sell your ad places for a fixed amount per month. This would safe you the struggle of counting clicks.
All you said is about Google Adsense, so here are a few things you should know. 1. You cannot set the price per click. The earning per click will be settle between Google and Advertisers. You have a agreement but as a publisher. Did you ever read the agreement carefully? You are not their business partner but a slave to obey their rules or you will be a dead man. They can do "anything" to you but you cannot do almost anything against them. 2. You do seems to worry about the clicks and if Google may cheat on you by not count all clicks you earned. I have to say this - Google Adsense is the most honest and ethical compared to other companies whom does offering the same services. Thus they pay you highest per click in the industry due to their largest advetisers base. You will get paid for every "legit" clicks you received. 3. The displayed ads on your site will be automatic defined by Google system, display based on your site content. You can filter some garbage advertisers out to earn more per click. 4. Be honest and trying not to game with them. Google Adsense does exists for a many years already. They have already encountered with many scheme from publishers and most of them got ridden. Most of the way you might think that outsmart over Google, will not work. If your account got ridden, you have only 0.0001% to get it back regardless to the way and how you appeal to them. 5. I have used free click tracking software named "Adlogger" for a long time ago. It did work but not that perfect. The counted clicks sometime more than the one I saw in Adsense report. However, after some observe I found the software has some fault click counting by itself. If you are going to use some software to track your click I would say it useless. What would you do if you found two reports are not the same? If you wanna try you can Just told.
True; certainly something for me to consider, although I think with the type of businesses I'll be soliciting (smaller, "mom & pop" type sites), I think they'd opt to go with a PPC format first. Thanks very much for your info, sir. Actually, however, I believe that what I might need is Google Analytics. Would GA tell me how many people clicked on a certain banner each month?
GA would only record the presence of a visitor... but not whether he/she clicks on your banner! Even if you find a script to record the same, it would be tough to convince your advertisers of the genuineness of the stats so produced by it. It would be best to strike a deal for a period... rather than based on clicks! Regards, RightMan
