It's not a "prize". You need a service provider to perform Search Engine Optimization, and a good one.
You need to check out what good SEO costs, and start again, or learn how to do it yourself.
For that budget, the only thing you will find is someone who will "Blow smoke up your butt" and leave you hanging, and besides that, you won't know until the next update.

I know someone who got 4th on top page google for two websites but doesn't know how he did it - also the search "stupid rude inadequate bosses" gets him quite a few uniques. Could it be people just pretend it's difficult?

Now that is a term someone might be able to get you to the top 5 for $50

no serious SEO will guarantee #1, and the ones who do KNOW that such a guarantee is just plain out scamming and lying.

I heard that google has now modified its algorithm so that you now need not just backlinks but backlinks from domains google considers authoritative.

first of all i don't think anyone can guarantee you first position and if they would they would be charging 1000s of dollars. for such a competitive keyword you will have to work for months and add 1000s of links. i don't think you can find anyone that will do it for a 1000$

 

it will take lots of time or depending on the keyword if it is competetive or not, it will not instantly go to the # 1 position in google.

 

isn't it that based from the comment or reply to your thread give you insight on what to do to achieve your ranking? take them as a challenge
