Your logic is priceless... Since Google runs on Linux, MyDoom must be a Linux virus? If you read the article, you will notice the word "Google" does not even exist in it.
How much are you going to western union me today So then you explain it Shawn, how a fool proof system can be attacked, next why are you and some others calling it a M$ virus, did Bill Gates cook it up?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3927963.stm This article mentions Google in it, it says a new variant of the virus, could this new variant be a Linux virus? You explain to us Shawn, that is what we are here for, put yourself on the line, we will not leave you if you are wrong!
It's not a virus that infects Google's servers, it's a virus that runs off Windows machines that makes queries to Google. A denial of service attack that overloads Google's servers. Which couldn't have been completely overloaded because Google was never down for me. A denial of service attack against servers running Linux (or any platform for that matter) does not make it a Linux virus. MyDoom in fact is a Windows virus that part of it's "mission" was to use all the infected computers to make so many web requests to sco.com that the web server was overloaded. That does not make it a Linux, or SCO virus.
This is a Linux virus: Please send this message to all your friends and neighbors, then erase all your hard drives. We thank you.
Owlcroft, maybe you should fool folks a bit better, like click on this photo of Elvis and see him sing and dance for you, then we will send you 500 dollars by PayPal. You could then highjack their computers and turn them into Zombies to steal credit card numbers and checking account numbers. You could always join the Russian Mafia and Blackmail UK Bookies with DOS attacks also.
I heard that the virus is affecting googles spead and is getting email addresses form sites that are listed on sites in google or something can someone tell me if that is right.
Link is compliments of Lever Report on the Virus yesterday that slowed down Google.... http://software.silicon.com/malware...tm?nl=d20040727
