Guys Wot is the general rule when figuring out wot to charge someone for a text link on ur homepage. Someone has asked me for a price for 6 months or a year to on my PR3 web directory. I dont want to scare him off by saying too much £ but dont want to not charge enough Thanks
I would say $180 ($30 /month for 6 months) is a fair price. However there are more factors to consider. If the link is irrelevant to your site then charge more. If your visitors can benefit from the link charge less. I charge $20 per month for a homepage link on a PR2 real estate directory. A great tool to help you decide is the Text Link Ads Calculator: text-link-ads.com/link_calculator.php Let me know what it comes up with. Sorry this is all in US, but I’m sure you can convert.
I tried the TLA's tool on one PR2 site and it comes up $3/month/link. I think $30/month it's over priced for a PR3 site.
I ran the URL in your signature through the tool, and for 1 link it calculated $10 /month. As I said above, your price needs to account for relevancy and value to your visitors. Even if you quote him a high price, he should counter with a figure that fits his budget.
I just checked out the link calculator for a couple of my sites - the site not launched yet values higher than one of my earlier sites. But I did check a link on google... said it couldn't print that many 0's
