"Cost Per Day" Ad Networks?

Discussion in 'Pay Per Click Advertising' started by TextAdMarket, Jun 9, 2008.

Most forums classify advertising into 3 categories: CPA, CPC, CPM. I run TextAdMarket, where prices are CPD "Cost Per Day". I don't know of too many other ad networks that charge "per day" rather than for clicks or impressions.

Does anyone here use a CPD network? If so, what is it, and do you have any results? (state whether you were an advertiser or a publisher)

Many...Adbrite, Adster, etc. Check here for example,
    http://www.adster.com/buy/panel.php?panel_id=22751
They have network default ads paying CPC mode if no ad space sold on any specific site. Yours similar? I'm very interested in becoming a publisher. I need more text sponsor ads on my sites.

Thanks glad to see more people joining!

No, my network doesn't currently have a default CPC. Instead, the ads will sell themselves basically. They will say something like "Advertise Here: $0.65 /day", which will link to a landing page for your potential buyers. The landing page will have statistics, info on your site, and instructions on how to buy your ad space.

As I keep expanding my network, I do plan on adding a default CPC option.

One suggestion: You might want to add a forum, so people have a place to go to discuss the ad system and ask questions that other members can participate in. (similar to how this forum works).

you can get free forum software here: http://phpbb.com

Yes, TextAdMarket ads will work in iframes. You can resend your activation email if you never got it. Also, you can PM me with your email address, and I'll double check for typos.

Thanks seaji!!!! Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions for the site!

Any publisher succesfully sold ad space? I'm sorry but i cannot see any ads sold even from your #1 publisher site...Mine is ranked #2 with Alexa 110K and soon to be within 100K i believe. I remembered you stated somewhere that you have many "pre-paid" advertisers but where are their ads and how it works?

Not yet...my first payment was scheduled in July.

(if an adspace is sold out, it wont be listed in the marketplace)

Yes, publishers have bought ad spaces. What is your website URL? Fusionmail I think? You only have 1 day of statistics logged so far (and it was logged about 13 hours before this post). Most advertisers will not buy an ad space if it doesn't have at least a little bit of stats to back it up. Give it a few days, I'm sure your's will sell :)

..also, are you rotating the 468x60 banner? I didn't see the textadmarket banner when I visited your site. No advertiser would buy from your site if they don't see the ad space they are buying. Maybe mention in the adspot description that it is in a rotated banner.

I am going to try this for a week, but I am weary of having all sorts of dead prime real estate sitting around waiting for these advertisers to show up. Selling the ad space on my actual site sounds good in theory, but ad buyer don't visit my site (if they did, I'd be selling that space via another referral option with a bigger payout.)

Well make sure not to set the prices too high or no one will want to buy your space. How much traffic do you get to your site?

    Around 55,000 uniques a month. 225,000 PV's.

I used the calculator provided and it recommended $3 per day based on 1800 uniques per day (and I set it for $2)

Oh ok. So you have a good chance that someone may buy your space. And if it doesn't sell after a week you just lower the price a bit until you get sales I guess.

I know I suggested this either in another thread or earlier in this one, I think that you should have a forum for your users to discuss the program and have other's ask "pre sign up" questions.

You can get forum software for free @ http://phpbb.com
