    Hi,

Im using a joomla cms for my site and i have a psd for my sites design. If i would was to hire a coder to write the code for the psd (in other words translate it to a useable, straight out of the box template) how much do you think i should be paying?

I have no experience in this area of website management so i was wondering what anyone thought?

There is no right answer. It's a little like asking how much does a car cost. Are you talking about a single page or several variations for different pages? There are probably people who would do it for $50 and others that would charge a lot more. A psd is basically an image that will be cut up and certain slices of it will be used to create a coded page. The parts of the psd image that are not used will be replaced with coding to speed loading time and allow text to be edited and read by spiders.

It might be best if you could post an image of the psd and details of what you are looking for (i.e. you want it done in css) and then check references and make sure those sites validate and display correctly using different browsers.

thanks mjewel informative post was just what i was looking for.

Basically i think im corrent in saying with a cms, there is only one page, becuase the cms controls all the content on that page (menus, main body etc...)
