Cost of bandwidth!

I live in India. Here band width is expensive. It costs nearly a US dollar/hr (phone bill + ISP bill + taxes) to have a dial up connection.

I use cable net . This costs around 20 USD a month for 56 kbps connection - no data download limit.

I was wondering whats the cost of bandwidth in other countries.

 

THat doesn't seem like that much. But I don't use dial up so I dont know. I have a dedicated bandwidth with my connection so it's about 40 bucks a month with a fast connection.

 

I pay more or less $45 for a 512kb cable connection

 

In rural wisconsin I pay $35.00 for 3MB down and 1.5MB up I am a happy clam.

 

Henny - that is excellent upstream! I pay about $10 more/month for 3 Mbps down and 384 Kbps up.

20 bucks a month is not too bad, but $1 an hour sucks escpecially for internet junkies.

 

I pay about $60 / month for a 10 MB/s downstream, and 256KB/s upstream cable connection (comcast).

 

I pay like ~$60 / mnth for 3.2mbps down and 768kpbs upstream ADSL , I stopped using dialup connection a long time a go..

 

8000/1024 Kbit/s 80 euros per month.

 

About $50 per month for broadband

 

I pay $50 for 4 Mbps/384

 

Let's see:

512KB/s ADSL Capped at 3GB = $111 per month. Oh, and it is shaped!

Dail-up: $42 a month with basic usage time

 

I pay $99.95 AUD of 1500/256 kbps unlimited plan until 10gb then they capped the speed back to 64kpbs. But they sometimes do not cap the speed.

Why don't you switch to BSNL ADSL broadband ?
I'm satisfied with its speed / price.
256kbps down / 128kbps up. 1 GB cap. Unlimited night download from 2AM - 8AM.
