Basically what I require is a server that I can use for file transfers, something able to handle 500 connection at any point and transfer huge 1gb file, as well as converting the files.

I don't require as much storage because I only need it for transferring files, but where would be the best place to find this for a reliable and economical price for this type of server.

I need something with a really high speed connection.

What are the specs that I should be looking at?

Consider checking out ThePlanet.com. All of their servers are high quality and corporate style, and typically used for extreme conditions. I used to run a hosting company with their servers. It's rather costly, but you'll rarely have to deal w/ down time or slow usage.

I need something that allows me to download 200GB a day on the server and convert it to another format using php, then download the 200GB within a 12 hour period.

My company is only willing to spend a max of $1000/month so do you think I can get something for that price?

ThePlanet.com looks good but they have a bandwidth restriction, I need to transfer at least 400Gb - 800Gb a day

Do your research on FDC before buying, you don't want a slow shared port.

I have a nice option for you: check out a few 10Mbit unmetered servers (3.3TB/month bandwidth) if you can split your data accordingly. That'll easily fit into $1000/month.
