So I went to work on some image files (jpg, tif, crw) this weekend. One large folder and a few small ones near it seem to be corrupted. Here's my problem: whenever I try to open any of the files in ACDSee (image browser) or PhotoShop I get these errors: ACDSee - the source data format is not recognized PS - Could not complete your request b/c it is not the right kind of document. The only thing I can think of is that I must have changed something in the registry that I shouldn't have. Or maybe it's a disk corruption. Come to think of it, I saw it run chkdsk after one of the reboots and it found errors... Has anyone ever experienced something remotely like this? Thanks! Tim
I finally found the event viewer and I see several of these errors ~ actually on 2 drives The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume G I wonder if both drives are destined to become paperweights? I run chkdsk/f and it recovers (deletes) "orphaned" files but it seems to be a reoccurring error
