Hi All, I think its an off day for me. Somethings not right. I've been playing around on and off for several days now trying to get the exact wordpress url xml feed for this site to show the blog under my user name here. I've tried every which way and haven't seen it appear on here at all. The Blog is here and all I'm looking for is the correct xml feed url to put into the profile here. I'm really stressed over this as its probably something I've over looked. Help is appreciate and many thanks to all that reply.
Using your browser, display your blog page. Then in your browser menu select 'View' and 'source' or 'Page Source'. Look through the source for '<link' tags with an attribute in them of 'type="application/rss+xml"'. There may be one or more tags in the source using this method. The tag will have an 'href=' attribute containing the URL for the XML feed. >>> Mike http://forex.bestinfoguidetoday.com
This is the closest I can find: <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://www.jareds-blog.com/?feed=rss2" title="From The Technical Mind of Jared latest posts" /> However, when I input this url: (http://www.jareds-blog.com/?feed=rss2) into the profile section for the forums here I never see it appear. Am I missing the idea here? I fail to see any files that end in .xml or maybe thats not what I'm supposed to be looking for?
That's the right link. If you have an RSS reader or if your browser supports RSS feeds you can paste that link into it and see what that would return -- which is a list of items from your blog in RSS format. I'm not sure you can use that link in your forum profile. I'm assuming you just want it to show up as a clickable link that will show the RSS feed. Maybe someone can comment on whether that's allowed at DP. >>>> Mike
I thought that was the right link. But when I put it in the profile here expecting it to show up under my user name here it never does which leads me to believe I'm missing the point some where along the line.
I had not added a URL to my homepage, so I tried it. It shows up when I click my name (as a drop-down option list link that says "Visit mfurlong's homepage!"). I didn't try making it an XML/RSS feed, but I imagine you could. Same thing in my signature file, I just used URLs to the websites as opposed to the URL for XML/RSS feeds. Maybe someone else could help if there are other options available. Have a great day! >>>> Mike
