Until recently I have shied away from asking for backlinks. But no more. I am now considering emailing some website owners asking for one way links. -What is the proper format for those. -What subject line should I use. -Would you email them telling them its your site or would you just pretend to be somebody else who found a cool addition to his resources (namely your site)? -Do you also suggest other authorative sites besides yours?
This is a toughy, as people that know about links won't necessarily just link to you because you just 'asked' them and people that don't know about links won't even know how to get your link online correctly. Best bet would be to contact bloggers in your industry and let them know about something cool, different, unique or special about your site. Turn it into something viral. There shouldn't be a template involved; make it personal per email sent.
It's true. Kiss some major booty No but really I would offer: Some information Some praise Some benefits Make sure it seems personal don't mention money or profits (let them think that you do it outta the goodness of your heart)
Well seeing as moneysupermarket is the largest site of its kind in the UK and spends millions on TV adverts its fair to say they are allowed to brag. The interesting part of that email is they are not offering me a link in return, they just want me to link to them.
Thats the point of one way links. I would send out those kind of emails to website owners that I don't want to link back to. Even if only 1 of 10 does it I am o.k. with it.
