CoRank bans DigitalPoint

    My, my, we have a bad reputation here! I just signed up at CoRank and wanted to add a link to a thread here - and guess what!? They're blocking us!

    I had a look at the "about" page but I have no idea who is behind the site or what the problem is. Funny old things :)

    Looks like its just temporary ?

    Thats can't be a glitch,CoRank blocked DP manually!

    I know that DP was even banned in Digg few time ago.:D

    Submitting a support ticket,lets see if they gonna reply or not.

    ts the first time i heard bout this corank...what ever it is..

    seems like they allow us to make some free site...duh..whats the meaning of banning DP? lol...

    Hello all,

    The reason it was banned is not quite what some of you have guessed :)

    A few weeks ago we received a unusually large amount of links in a short period of time pointing at digitalpoint.com, and in order to stop the outburst we were forced to temporarily ban any links pointing to the site.

    The ban was lifted shortly after one of the DigitalPoint users contacted us.

    so you ban popular sites that are popular with your members? that sounds like good business practice, just like 2gig.com banning its members from using joomla cms after 1000's of their members had used it to build free sites with it.

    you end up loosing members

    Samantha, trust me (well, you don't have to trust me, but anyway...). This was a clear case of one single user spamming the site, creating multiple accounts from the same IP, etc.
