What do you consume to give you the energy to write?

I drink too much coffee. Sometimes I drink OJ and it brightens me up a bit. Of course, good old exercise just can't be beat, unless you are truly beat already. ;-)

What do you drink or eat to keep going?

No offense friend but a true writer has it in his/her blood. No food, liquid, outside stimuli ought to be nessesary to give you the urge or desire to write. You should be doing it because you need to in order to feel alive.
Simply get the thought, feeling, and express yourself with no borders or perimeters.Throw caution to the wind, abandon yourself and WRITE!....Write because you love it and will die inside without it.Develop that passion for it and you will be a successful writer.:)

As much as I would like to completely agree with you, I do not. There have been plenty of times where I started eating certain foods that are proven to provide more energy, and it ended up working out for the better. If I am tired and physically drained, I am not going to have the same level of performance that I would have had normally. Things like the amount of sleep you get, type of bed you sleep on, and the type of food that you eat play a big part in how much energy you have throughout the day.

I've no problem saying that I have certain nicotine and coffee requirements to keep me at my best.

Hey, even Ogilvy said he wrote better after a few drinks.
