Copywriting for SEO: How to rank higher for particular keywords

This effectively does the same thing as my other tip (stuff keywords into ALT image tags).

In your website template, add links to your landing pages with the keywords you would like to target. When you have every page on your domain link to that particular page with your best keyword, that page will rank much higher for that particular keyword. I've tried it myself and it works. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to increase overall traffic; but you will get more relevant traffic if you do this. And it's dead easy to do.

IMO there's no reason to go crazy and stuff your keywords into your copy.

This probably has more to do with other SEO methods than copywriting.

But I agree that keyword stuffed copy doesn't really add any value at all. I can't bring myself to write articles that contain the same keyword phrase about 20 times and make the whole article gramatically incorrect.

some cutting edge advice there, alt text spamming.. :)

wouldnt advise this. more likely to get you spam-filtered than improve things.

no definitely not, write natural copy, 2 or 3 mentions of the phrase on the page is fine.

When I say keyword stuffing, I am really referring to keyword density. If you believe that there is an ideal keyword density, then using ALT tags would be a great way to do it since you don't have to change your copy at all.

Obviously going overboard with keyword stuffing will probably get you slightly penalized by Google.

2- And of course, you want at least one instance of any particular phrase you are targeting. Can't rank for something if that word doesn't exist on your page. Again, you can throw that phrase in there without having to alter your copy.
