Hello everyone, I am really very confused with these 2 terms i.e copy writing and content writing. Are they both same? And if not, what's the difference between these two.? Thanks for your suggestions in advance.
Traditionally, copywriting was meant to define copy that advertises, markets and/or promotes a person, product or business. (Think sales pages.) Content writing refers to more informational copy - like website content and articles that explain things to you, but aren't necessarily for promotional/advertising purposes.
Senobia has hit the nail on the head. Copywriting is about advertising and selling. It can apply to web sites, blogs, radio and Television. Content writing is adding information just to inform the visitor or reader to your website or blog. You can also do content writing for magazines. Although they are similar in the sense that you write, they are different in the way they are used.
This. Copywriting is designed with sales in mind. It's easy to write generic informational articles (if you know your subject). It's not so easy being a good copywriter.
Thanks Senobia and Magic-man for your valuable answers. Now, I think both these terms are clear to me and now I can state the difference between them.
