I am looking for responsible copywriters, and I would like to ask you about qualities of the best copywriter? I mean how to make a right choice while looking for the best one.
Hi Dyachek, You ask a very good question. In fact, a couple of them. First, what are the qualities of a successful (I'll use this term instead of "best") copywriter? * They don't give up. As Peter Bowerman says, "If you don't quit, you can't fail." * They learn from their mistakes. Like all students, they make huge clunking goofs at first, but they don't make the same mistake twice. * They never stop learning, honing their skills as copywriters. In fact, they love to learn new things, and they love to research. * They are fascinated by people. They need to understand how to get into the minds of their ideal prospects; how to present the widget so that the target "gets it" right away. * They love to read and write. Okay, now on to your second question: how to choose the right copywriter for you and your product? This is a little more difficult to address. You need, first off, to make a list of copywriters that you consider to be successful and who have already written for products similar to what you are marketing. Now check out the website and sample writings of each copywriter. Read carefully! Get a sense of each copywriter's style of writing, use of words, flow of thoughts. This is where the rubber hits the road. Narrow your list down to the top 2 or 3 copywriters. Contact each copywriter and ask if they would be interested in writing for your project (give a bit of an explanation) and if they are, could you arrange a time to discuss it further. Here you are looking for someone who can mesh their skills with your skills, who can work with you and meet your expectations. Personality counts, now; do you want a dictator who says, "I know best and you will take what I give you" or do you want a partner who says, "I can help and let's talk more" or do you want an employee who does exactly what you tell them to, don't ask any questions! Hope this helps, and thanks again for asking such good questions. Dot
Look at their websites. Do you like what you see? Look at their samples. Do you like what you see? Ask your friends and family if they like what they see. That, in a nutshell, is how you can tell for the most part. Oh, and if that particular copywriter impressed you and so many others, THAT, in a nutshell, is his quality.
On paper or portfolio a copywriter might look all good, but to be certain you get the right one; always check their references.
Ask them to send a copy of their sample. Check it on a plagiarism software and read through... I have a content team quality, punctuality and well researched work is what I seek from my writers.
For $1 / 100, I will provide you with work of a similar quality as that found at ezinearticles (dot) com/?expert=Dennis_Mugira; my personal ezine account.
Go with a more expensive one and say, "If you've got the balls to ask for this kind of money, you'd better prove that you're worth it". lol
