    This is not correct. A ghostwriter is someone that agrees not to have a byline (or receive direct credit) NOT someone who gives you content for a free-for-all.

    I will give you an example. My chief editor was a ghostwriter for a NY Times best seller. Her name appears in the book (for non-direct credit), but she is not listed as the author (even though she wrote the whole thing). The author of the book had to pay her royalties and follow specific credit guidelines to use the writing.
