You can't copyright a article, you can only have C&D letters sent to the person that steals your article and you need a lawyer for that.

In many countries you don't have to do anything to "get" a copyright - an article is copyright-protected as soon as it's created. C&D (cease & desist) letters are just one method of ensuring compliance before taking things further. And no, you don't need a lawyer to send a C&D. If you really want to register the copyright, check with the appropriate agency in your country for the procedures and cost. In the U.S. for example, it would be www.copyright.gov.
