Can I copyright content to a specific website, say, instead of:

    put

And get the same protection against content theft?

You have copyright protection as soon as the content is created, no matter what you opt to call yourself.

Jenn is correct. Copyright protection happens the moment you create a unique work, and save it in a fixed medium (bits count as fixed).

Still, if your going to assign the copyright to your website, you should register your domain as a business entity (assuming there's a commercial interest).

Just my humble opinion. I'm not a lawyer!
