There is no international copyright process, but there are two main bodies that protect foreign copyright. The Berne Convention and the Universal Copyright Convention. Member countries to these conventions protect copyrights of people in other member coutries under certain circumstances. Doing some research on those two will give you a better idea on international copyright.
