copyright question

    If you Use someone elses blog post on your website, but you quote where it is from is that copyright infringment? Im going told it is, but I was never tying to tske credit as my own.

    The best thing you can do when using someone else's work is to always ask first. If you are going to give the author credit and presumably a backlink I'm sure thay would be more than happy to give you permission.

    You have a good point. It was my first website and I was just starting it so I was making sure I had a lot of posts, but i always made sure I was not taking credit for the writing. Well I got a letter from adsense that the guy had filed a complaint and wanted them taken down. Well I did right away, so im hoping it has passed now. Kind of has me worried, but I had no intentions of stealing anyone work.

    Copyright violation means anything copying without the prior notice to the author...just try to contact the author first. That's the best way...

    If you take the whole post, yes it's copyright infringement. You pointing out a source is irrelevant.
