    Hello,

I designed a template from scratch but it resembles that of the theme for a copyrighted script. Am I liable for copyright infringement on this template?

Not necessarily. If you wrote "King Lear" by Shakespeare word for word without ever seeing the book, you wouldn't be in violation of copyright. Chances are that would never happen. Typically it's a "sliding scale." The less complex a work of authorship, the less likely you'll have a copyright problem. My thought is that if you didn't borrow anything from this template and created it from scratch, you should be free and clear.

I created this completely from scratch, so based on your post, I should be fine. :) Thank you for the kind response.

You should be - but as I said, if it's pretty clear that you had access to the other template and that you very likely used it somehow to create yours, then you may have an issue. But chances are if you didn't look at any of the code and designed it all from scratch, you're probably going to be fine.
