Copyright Laws Regarding A Free PLR Download Blog

I was wondering if I could get some input from the forum members on this one. I have a few Blogger blogs, and I recently got into private label rights. Since starting my PLR marketing campaign, I've compiled quite a collection of PLR products (ebooks, software, articles, etc.).

I got a lot of them for free and some I bought. I thought it would be a great idea for a blog if I gave away PLR downloads. I started my Blogger blog and so far I have 20+ downloads available on it. I want to try and add at least two every day.

To make a long story short, I'm looking for advice on whether I'm violating any copyright laws by doing this. I've come across tons of websites that give away free PLR product downloads. Some give away dozens on one site. However, I've yet to find a blog that offers these products for free with no strings attached like I do. My whole goal is to offer PLR products with no strings attached. No BS, just downloads. I don't ask for anyone's email address. I don't ask for any money, etc.

I've researched and have not been able to find any articles or information that say it's wrong, but I want to make sure. It's not worth getting sued over. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    The blog is at http://freeplrdownloads.co.cc

I've decided to shelf the blog until I can do some more research on the subject. It's not worth getting sued over a free blog! I'm still looking for your input on this, though. Thanks.

    no worries friend !

blogger is owned by google and you don't own server.

you can host anything you want on blog and if they got problem, they contact google and google must remove your blog.

Google gets sued for not removing your blog. BECAUSE you don't own domain or server.

Really? That makes a lot of sense. I've decided to make the blog invitation only and after I do some more research, I might open it to the public. I'm still not charging for the material. Instead, I'm running a contest and those who participate will receive an invitation to the PLR Download Blog. This way, I think I'm definitely in the safe area.

Most PLR packs come with license terms - some (usually referred to as unrestricted PLR) allow you to give it away free, some specify that it can only be given through membership sites, and some (very rare, but I have seen this) have restrictions on price / when you can sell.

As long as you are conforming to the license terms for each download, there is no copyright issue.

The reasons why people put it in member sites rather than direct downloads is simply because of 3 reasons

    1) Putting it up involves time and effort - the person would rather monetize it either by selling these, or picking up your name and selling you something else.

    2) In some cases, I've seen people use sharecash or other such sites that pay per download - those sites make their money off ads.

    3) For a beginner who's picking up hosting retail, the costs of space and transfer can add up quite quickly - especially if unscrupulous third parties link directly to your download instead of to your site...

Thanks for all of the great input. I'm using a free blog and free file hosting service so it's not costing me anything except time to do this. I don't think it's a big deal because a lot of the products are already available for free download somewhere on the net, but that doesn't always mean that it's not a copyright violation.
