Copyright issues

Me and a friend of mine were looking into making a humor site containing flash animations, pictures, movies ect. It would be like ebaumsworld and sites like that. My main issues is copyright issues on the files. Would I be able to host files I get from sites like ebaums world as long as I dont say that I own them? Would having something along the lines of "All the content on this site belongs to the respective owners" mean anything. I have heard ebaumsworld takes content from other sites and they dont seem to be haveing any problems but im not sure.

Get permission from the creators. If they find you using their content without their permission, they will probably ask you to take it down and may ask your host to take your entire site down.

Alright. The only problem is some of the popular movies are on ALOT of sites and they say no indication on who the owner is on the movie, so it will be quite hard to find the owner.

Just put it up and make a "easy to contact you" form so you can quickly take stuff down that is not public domain.

So I should be able to just add the stuff then have a contact form. If someone doesnt want thier movie on my site they can just ask me to take it down and I will. Most people would ask me to take it down first before taking legal action right?

    Yes that is my advice.

Also when you do get c&d or similar letters just comply but do not respond at all.

Depending on the amount of content you have you could just make it automated but throttle it so someone cant delete your whole site.

Keep in mind that you are liable and could be sued. Course you could also get hit by lightning tomorrow ;)
