Copyright issues about a technology related ebook

    Hello everyone,

I have a question for which I hope you can help me a bit.

I am the author of a technical ebook which is about configuring a specific hardware device of a computer networking vendor. I am selling my ebook on my personal website. The website's domain name includes also the name of the specific vendor. I have disclaimers everywhere (both on my website and on my ebook) that I am not affiliated with the vendor and that the ebook is my own creation. Do I have to get any special permission from the vendor in order to sell such an ebook on my own website? Do I have any copyright issues here?

Similar hardcopy books are sold on Amazon for the same vendor and they are legal. Will I get into any trouble?

Thanks a lot for any feedback.

You likely don't have copyright issues unless you are using their content or illustrations without permission, however, you certainly have potential trademark issues is you are using their brand name/trademark in your domain name.

Yes, this is what I thought too. There are many other websites out there using their brand name in the domain without any trouble, so I hope I will get away with that.

    Thank you very much
