You can check with firms specialising in trademarks

I dont think that there is a separate law of coyright web material in India. Even if one exists the law procedures are so cumbursome that you will better like to create a content that is ok even if copied....

actually Indian websites don't with stand, strong copyrights in web. I would recommend you contacting any Indian government organization site to get better and clear info on it
btw! are u planning to host in India to get Indian copyrights ?? you might even host your site else where like US, UK for an Indian site and get their copyrights, there wud be more users to help for the US or UK users

That is what I could recall last time I searched. The is no SEPERATE law for WEB material. The law which apply to book copyright - applies to WEB content.

    Thanks all,
Yes i am thinking to host in India because i am not getting any reliable host anywhere, i don't and i can afford international calls to bang my head with the hosting provider outside India.

you have lots of hosts such as hostgator away from India, I believe hosting is costlier in India, as I have few plans from reliable sites. Why do you need to make international calls  are you planning to run a phone based support site ?

its very simple , you create a company and then buy a trademark or copyright for your website from government , this process takes 3-6 months to complete
