Long story short. I've owned www.bball-world.us for a little bit now, and the domain has been registered for a while, I recently purchased it. A rogue Administrator went and made www.bbwforums.net (BBW = BBall World). Could I get them for copyright infringement?
BB has been a commonly used acronym of basketball for YEARS. If you could, then "hockeyfansforum.net" could sue "hockeyworld.com" for copyright infringement. You have no grounds. If they copied the content of your site it would be copyright infringement, but this isn't.
Your site is named bb-world. Theirs is bbwforums. Given as bb has ALWAYS been used to say "basketball" there is no way you can claim copyright infringement. And as far as I can tell they haven't copied any of your content word for word. Please don't try and claim that because they have a forum for each team that's copyright infringement. You have no basis for a claim unless they specifically copy and pasted posts made by you on their forum.
I think bball-World(us) is the site in trouble. Considering basketball world is a trademarked name, basketballworld(com). BBall World definitely has direct relation to that considering it is a basketball site and BBall has direct relation to basketball.
Not a chance my friend NOT A CHANCE. Well, did you trademark anything? If you did not trademark anything than nope your screwed!
