Does anybody know how this works?

I´m planing on taking some picture cut them and resize them.

Are they still under copyright laws?

Are the laws of copyright the same in all countrys?

If the photographs belong to the public domain.. then they're copyright free. Royalty-free photographs can be used for commercial purposes.

What type of photographs are these?

If you cut off 90% you can argue fair use.

You can also check for pictures under creativecommons license... if they allow share alike you can use them in your website after you play with them....

There are millions if pictures with CC license on flickr
