Copying a video

    If I download a video from YouTube, shorten it, by editing, and upload it to my website, have I broken any laws or created legal issues (USA)?

    Most likely you will break the laws. If the video has a Copyright (C) on it, then you can not.

    If the owner's permissions allow you to modify it, then you are ok. Few people allow that.
